Our Website is Back Online:

Due to lack of financial resources, our website, www.derryplayhousewriters.org was offline for a few months. However, this has been rectified and we are now back up for viewing. Also, you may order books from our connection to Amazon.com which is located on our home page. Remember, every time you order a book via our website we get five to fifteen percent of each order which is directly deposited to our Bank of Ireland account every three months. So, if enough people order from our site this percentage could cover the £40 annual fee to remain online! Also tell your friends and acquaintances to do likewise.

'The Artist's Way' Sessions

Our weekly exploration of this useful guide to helping our muse tap our inner creative resources meets during our weekly Wednesday Workshop @ 1:00-2:00pm and will continue until Wednesday, May 29, 2002.

Order The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron via on-line via our website or from your favourite local bookstore. ISBN 0-87477-694-5....if they don't have they will gladly order. Author: Julia Cameron. Price, £9.99.

Guest Speaker:

Our discussion with Dave Duggan was not only lively, it was very informative, therefore, we have decided to continue these sessions beginning in May. We will inform you of the speaker, date and time in our May newsletter. If you know of someone who you would like to have share their knowledge and experiences as a writer, please let us know and we will contact them - we aren't able to pay a fee but will provide an eager and rapt audience and tea or coffee!

Congratulations to:

Brian Foster and Carmel McCafferty for the successful premier of Brian's newest play, Marie: A Woman of Derry and Carmel's moving one-woman performance. Both Carmel and Brian were given standing ovations by the first night audience in the filled-to-capacity theatre.

Anne Crilly. Her award winning film, Limbo, commissioned by TG 4 was shown twice on that channel in March. Also, her latest short video, Flow that received funding from the Northern Ireland Film Commission was launched at the Odyssey Theatre in Belfast on March 27th.

Julie Doherty, whose play, God Bless the Mark, was performed at the Gasyard Community Centre during the International Women's Day celebration.
